Bevo

We said good bye to Bevo this morning. He was my husband's best friend for 12 years and my boys playmate for the past 4. He will be missed everyday by our family. I remember the first time I met him. I had come over to Brian's house and Bevo looked at me like, "Oh great, another woman trying to take my spot on this stinky couch." But he and I grew into a love/hate relationship over the years after we both realized that neither of us were going anywhere. I should have known he wasn't going anywhere, I mean, Brian's match profile name was Brianandbevo!
I am sure if Bevo could talk, he would tell some great stories of my husband's former single days. Like trying to pick up ladies at the dog park! Bevo was a great wingman from what I hear. I would like to write more but the tears are falling again. Help me by posting a comment to my husband or a memory of Bevo if you have one. I will make sure he sees them. I think he and the boys would like that. Here are a few of my favorite Bevo pictures.
Brian and Bevo were both so young here!
Avery loved him very much
Shea had a special place in his heart for Bevo. One Christmas eve, Bevo had a seizure and didn't want to come inside. Shea put his coat on and laid in the grass beside him until he felt like coming in.
Bevo was keeping an eye on his new baby brother and the photographer that was taking the pictures!
Bevo always found a way to get in on the action.

Brian nothing can ever replace Bevo but
he will live forever in our hearts.
The last time I was at your house, he got up on the couch beside me and listened as I played my guitar... At least I think he was listening. In reality he probably just wanted me to move from his spot. He was a good dog and a great friend. We'll miss ya, Bevo.
I remember the day Bevo messed up Brian's new Mustang convertible. There are so many other little memories. Bevo just loved me when I would come and give him a bath which I think was the only time he got one. He will always have a speical place in my heart along with McDoogle, Missy and Pepper. Bevo also had a special place in Grandma and Grandpa's heart.
Bevo swam many, many laps in the Carter Pool. We really loved him, especially when we babysat for him and he woke us up at 5AM. It's always sad when you lose a pet and especially sad to hear about Sweet Bevo. So sorry for your loss Lendecky Family.
I remember Bevo, Blaise, and Sampson going to the Dog Park and Sampson and Bevo jumping in the water together. Bevo couldn't understand why Blaise refused to jump in and then panicked when she fell in. Bevo watched, with head tilted to one side in confussion, as Brian jumped in to rescue Blaise. Bevo also liked to drink from Logan's sippy cup and take food that was "offered" by Logan. Bevo will always be in our hearts. Take comfort to know that Bevo is free of pain and is watching over you all.
We visited Brian and Bevo many years ago with our baby Onyx. Onyx tried to emulate Bevo's daring dive into the water not realizing she didn't know how to swim yet. Before I pushed Fredrick in to rescue my baby, she doggie paddled her way out. But I could see how she wanted to experience Bevo's Geronimo-like spirit and enjoy the water. We will forever be grateful to Brian and Bevo for extending their love and friendship for each other into our lives and bringing us Onyx. We love you guys and will think of Bevo everytime Onyx goes for a swim.
